Virtual Tattoo Try-On — See Any Design on Your Body Before Getting Inked
Upload a photo and place any AI-generated tattoo design on your skin in seconds. Adjust size, rotation, and placement to preview exactly how it will look in real life.
How Virtual Try-On Works
- Upload a body photo: Take a clear photo of the area you want to tattoo (arm, leg, back, chest, etc.) and upload it. The more natural the pose, the better the preview.
- Choose a tattoo design: Pick any design from our 1,000+ AI-generated gallery, or generate a new one from a text prompt in seconds. Bring your own artwork if you prefer.
- Position and resize: Drag the design onto your body, pinch to resize, and rotate for perfect placement. Stack multiple designs to preview sleeves, bands, or collages.
- Generate the preview: Our AI blends the tattoo with your skin lighting, shadow, and body contour for a photorealistic result you can save or share.
Why Try Before You Ink
A tattoo is permanent. The biggest regret among tattoo owners is not the concept but the placement — a size, angle, or body area that looked great in a flat sketch but awkward in real life. Virtual try-on eliminates that risk.
Tattoo artists also use our try-on studio to pitch placements to clients during consultations, saving hours of reference-image trial and error. Studios on the Artist and Studio plans can save client presets and export high-resolution previews.
Best Body Placements to Preview
The try-on tool supports every common placement: forearm, upper arm, sleeve, shoulder, chest, back, ribs, hip, thigh, calf, ankle, wrist, hand, finger, neck, and behind the ear. Each area has different skin tone, curvature, and hair density — our AI accounts for all three when rendering the preview.
Virtual Try-On FAQ
Do I need to create an account to use try-on?
Yes — a free account unlocks 3 try-on previews per month. The Artist plan gives you 50/month and the Studio plan is unlimited.
What photo works best for try-on?
Good lighting, a plain background, and the body part facing the camera directly. Avoid heavy shadows or cropped frames. iPhone or Android portrait photos work great.
How accurate is the preview?
The AI matches your skin tone, lighting, and body curvature, giving a photorealistic result close to the actual tattoo. Final color saturation will depend on your artist's ink and technique.
Can I try on tattoos I designed elsewhere?
Yes. Upload any PNG with a transparent background and our try-on engine treats it like a native design. Clean line-art works best.
Is my uploaded body photo private?
Yes. Uploaded photos are processed securely and never shared publicly. You can delete them from your account at any time. See our privacy policy for full details.
